Call for Proposals: RMPA Teaching Conference Teaching Take-Out Session 

RMPA is calling all passionate educators from high schools, community colleges, and universities to showcase the innovative teaching methods and activities that you use in your psychology classes. During the 2024 "Teaching Take-Out" session, you will have the opportunity to share your favorite teaching demonstrations with fellow psychology instructors. This session is designed to be interactive, engaging, and fun, treating the audience as if they were students in a dynamic classroom.

Session Details:

  • Format: Interactive presentations, no longer than 10 minutes in length.

  • Audience: Teachers of psychology from all levels of education.

  • Content: Innovative teaching activities or topics related to psychology.

  • Reuse: Presenting a teaching take-out from the past to a different audience is welcome.

Submission Guidelines:

To submit a proposal please utilize the regular RMPA submission portal and choose “teaching take-out” as the presentation format. The submission portal is available on the RMPA webpage: http://www.rockymountainpsych.com/new-page-1

 Please consider including the following information in your submission:

  • A catchy title for your teaching take-out presentation.

  • Provide a clear and concise description of your teaching take-out, including the psychology topic it covers and the innovative teaching method or activity you will demonstrate.

  • Outline the specific learning objectives that your presentation aims to achieve.

  • Describe how your presentation will be interactive and engaging, keeping the audience involved as if they were students.

  • List any materials or resources you will use during the presentation, if applicable.

  • Indicate the subtopic(s) within psychology that your teaching take-out relates to. Assume the audience knows most of the background content they need to participate in the presentation.

  • Specify the level of education (high school, community college, university) for which your teaching take-out is most suitable.

  • If applicable, mention any previous use of this teaching take-out and its outcomes.

Proposals will be evaluated based on their creativity, relevance to psychology education, engagement potential, and alignment with the conference's goals. Proposals will be peer reviewed.
